For this interview, we got to sit down with Diana Sabacinski, President & CEO at SanMelix Laboratories Inc. and co-creator of the award-winning product, BeeCure Anti-Itch Lotion! Due to the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of raw honey, BEECure Anti-Itch Cream soothes the skin and reduces itching, inflammation, redness, dryness and rashes. MCA: Hi Diana! So happy to be able to sit down and speak with you again to talk about your new award-winning product, BeeCure Anti-Itch Lotion! Congratulations on yet another Mom’s Choice Award! Can you update us on your background, including what your company has been up to since our last interview in October 2021?

The MCA Award-Winning Product, BeeCure Anti-Itch Lotion

Diana: In less than a year since our last interview, SanMelix Laboratories was issued an international trademark and launched 7 additional OTC products on Amazon, including our BEECure® Anti-Itch cream. BEECure® was named winner of a Stevie Award in Health & Pharmaceuticals products, in the 2021 19th Annual American Business Awards, and we added a prestigious new board member, Steve Weinstein to our team. Mr. Weinstein recently retired after a 20-year career with Johnson & Johnson and most recently was the Head of Supply Chain & Operations at Zarbee’s, Inc., a leading Health & Wellness company acquired by J&J in September 2018. He is the sixth board member to be appointed to SanMelix and a perfect addition to the team, which includes my husband, Dr. Sabacinski, a Harvard-trained surgeon who has dedicated 30 years of his life researching wound care, and myself, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and co-founder of a company which was listed on the INC 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies.

MCA: Wow, that is quite a lot of accomplishments in under a year, very exciting news indeed! I’d like to talk a little bit more about your new award-winning product. Why was it important for you to use buckwheat honey when creating BeeCure Anti-Itch Lotion?

Diana: Dr. Sabacinski chose buckwheat honey because of its superior healing properties. Studies have shown buckwheat honey has higher anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant fortified with antibacterial compounds over other types of honey.

MCA: All the stuff that makes for an amazing, award-winning anti-itch lotion! Tell us about the advantages of buckwheat over manuka!

Diana: Buckwheat honey has been shown in studies to have advanced skin regeneration properties and is higher in antioxidant activity, anti-inflammatory activity, and tissue repair activity than Manuka honey allowing SanMelix’s products to be used on acute and chronic wounds, scrapes, minor cuts, burns, and skin irritations.

MCA: Can you tell us about the benefits of adding additional natural ingredients that soothe irritated skin?

We’ve asked bloggers to test the products and have had nothing but positive feedback. Amazon testimonials and comments include things like “Used many anti-itch products. I really like the natural ingredients in this product that can help soothe irritated itchy skin. It’s great to have on hand for mosquito bites or any insect bites.”

MCA: As the saying goes, the proof is in the pudding! Tell us about some of the other products BeeCure offers, including the MCA award-winning BeeCure After-Sun Lotion!

Diana: Our BEECure® over-the-counter products include a radiation and laser skin care, which received the Amazon Choice award in its first month along with 150+ testimonials. We had a customer who had breast cancer and used it on her skin after radiation and was blown away with the results. We also have an intensive foot cream for dry cracked feet, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis relief creams. Our after-sun lotion has been received well with one customer stating “I bought this for a really bad sunburn and was pleased that my skin didn’t peel. Instead, it turned into a nice tan.” All our products contain nutrient-rich, medical-grade dark buckwheat honey. Our formulas have been found to better soothe, hydrate, revive and heal skin damage when compared to conventional treatments.

MCA: With so many exciting products already on the market, I must know, what is next for BeeCure?

Given the efficacy of raw buckwheat honey and the clinically-proven superiority over Manuka honey, we’re excited to be offering the latest advancement in honey-based skincare treatments. We are excited about the company’s future and meeting our revenue and business goals.
