There’s nothing better than seeing a mom who passionately balances both family and a fulfilling career. As a mom, a majority of your time is dedicated to your kids. The Secrets to Being a Happier and Healthier Mom

Additionally, life as a busy mom never slows down. You could get so caught up with mom duties that you neglect self-care.

We’ve all been there and here’s a secret: moms who pamper themselves lead a happier and healthier lifestyle.

It’s no easy task, but it’s doable! In this article, we’ll help you achieve this with the best pampering tips from beauty regimens to fitness routines.

Beauty Regimen

With age comes fine lines, wrinkles, and dark circles under your eyes from the lack of sleep. It’s hard to escape these stress-induced wrinkles when you’re juggling heavy chores all-year-round.

When you take the time to treat your skin religiously, moms can maintain a more youthful glow. This also boosts your confidence and physique.

But with a jam-packed schedule, it’s almost impossible to squeeze in a detailed skincare routine. We understand how much easier it is to crawl into bed after a long day.

If you want to look and feel your best, it’s essential to establish a beauty regimen. You could lean towards one that’s quick and convenient as you won’t have much time to spare.

Our personal favorite is the radiofrequency skin tightening tool. It’s a quick and effective way to tighten your skin at home.

With this, you can do away with the time and additional costs it takes to visit your local clinic.

There are also many products out there that combat stress-induced signs of aging. Skincare products like moisturizers, serums, and anti-aging creams help you build a youthful appeal.

Eat the Right Food

When you’re always on-the-go, you can hardly savor a nice homemade meal. Eating is probably the least of your priorities when your hands are tied 24/7.

Proper nutrition for your kids is as important for moms too. A healthy diet keeps your mind and body in tip-top shape.

The right food can boost your mental capacity and performance. Moms have to stay upbeat and productive to power through the day, which is why you should eat healthily.

It’s especially difficult when kids love chips, sweets, and anything tasteful to relish. You should stay away from these types. Or better yet, do away with them for good.

Instead, go for whole fresh foods, vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. If possible, eat organic.

Also, keep an eye on processed food or those with excess sugar as they lead to aging and a couple of health problems.

Sometimes, it gets crazy balancing your kids’ needs while working. This leaves you no time to enjoy a hearty meal.

You can slip yourself a healthy snack and mini-meals in-between breaks. Fruits and vegetables are a great way to keep your energy levels pumping.

Start a Fitness Routine

Hectic moms find it hard to squeeze in a sweat session into their daily routines. Little do most know that exercise is the best reliever for stress and burnouts.

A good sweat helps your body produce endorphins, which reduces your stress levels. It also improves your mood and mental capacity.

Activities like yoga, walking, or jogging are great for easing your body into moving. You can even walk your dog a few times or take a 45-minute walk a day to get sweating.

Busy moms rarely have the luxury of time. This is why short but high-intensity exercises for a good 20 minutes will do.

Workouts like HIIT or Tabata can pack a powerful sweat session and burn a good amount of calories.

Also, you might barely have the time to run to the gym. There are free workout videos on YouTube that make it convenient to exercise from home.

With this, make a plan for how you want to sweat and take the time to prioritize your health.

Develop Healthy Sleeping Habits

Getting a wink of sleep is a luxury for moms. Especially when you have a newborn baby, it’s possible that you only get less than 6 to 8 hours of sleep a day.

It’s understandable at this stage. But when your infant grows older and is less likely to wake, you must allow yourself a good night’s rest.

If you were to choose between working out or sleeping, the latter is the option to go for. Improving your physical and mental health starts with getting good hours of sleep.

Moms need to recuperate from the stresses of their daily to-do’s. Sleep is essential for your body to regulate cell and hormone repair, and digestion.

When you cut yourself short of it, it weakens your immunity and your ability to focus. It also affects your mood which might harm your relationship with your kids.

You lose the ability to function well, putting your work performance at risk. Running on coffee can only get you so far.

Having said, nothing beats the quality of energy that you get when you’re fully rested. It helps to set an earlier bedtime, even if it means that your children will wake you up occasionally.

Build a Hobbies That You Love

What’s the one thing you enjoy doing the most but don’t have the time for? Perhaps it’s reading, cooking, or art.

When you get started on hobbies, it takes your mind off of work and responsibilities. There’s nothing better than seeing a mom beaming with passion from doing something that she loves.

If you’re worried about running short on hours, you can make play-time with kids a time for building hobbies together.

Doing DIY projects together builds more intimacy between you and your children.

Conclusion

Carving some “me-time” in a loaded schedule is tough. But when you take the time to prioritize your health, you become the best version for yourself and your children.

Every mom deserves to look and feel her best. I hope you’re feeling more confident to start this journey!

  1. Well the secret to being a healthy happy mom is self care, which most of the new moms don’t do due to lack of time or other reasons. I have been through postpartum depression and i know the challenging journey of being a mom. Sleepless nights and nipple soreness become an everyday story. For me taking some me time worked. I like to take care of my skin with the moms co skincare products , and take a nap when my little one can be with the family. Because rejuvenating yourself is important, coz you pour from an empty cup.
