Our Mom’s Choice Awards® team just returned from Toy Fair in New York City. We had an absolute blast at the show, and we were fortunate enough to enjoy some oddly warm February New York weather. In our off time we visited a late night bakery, enjoyed some tasty Venezuelan arepas, and laughed over a terrible bottle of wine in the hotel room (…hey, it was worth it for the memories)!
We’ll post a Facebook photo album from our time at Toy Fair later this week, but for now we thought we’d share a few of the best moments from the show! (EDIT: The Facebook album is now up! See more photos from the show here.)
One of our favorite moments was seeing the Mom’s Choice Award-winning game Yeti in My Spaghetti win Game of the Year in the Toy Industry Association’s TOTY awards.
But the award for dedication goes to Games by BRIGHT of Sweden. Anna worked some of the show by herself because her business partner Pernilla broke her leg shortly after arriving in NYC from Sweden. But that didn’t keep Pernilla away the whole time! She was determined to make it to Toy Fair either way!

And here’s Anna demoing the game Geometry Strategy:
Another stand-out was seeing Jon Gumble’s amazing K’NEX creation! We’ll post a video of it on Facebook so you can see it moving! We were totally in awe!
Plus, we got to meet Jason Hopper, creator of The Robo Buddy! If you haven’t heard of it yet, the Robo Buddy is a remote controlled toy and house monitor. It works from anywhere. That’s right, ANYWHERE! You can be on the other side of the world and use Robo Buddy to keep an eye on your house, keep in touch with loved ones, and give you piece of mind. Or you can just sit on the couch and have Robo Buddy bring you a snack!
And we always enjoy seeing Mark and the folks at Tucker Toys! They’ve won many of our awards, and we love their dedication to creating fun, ACTIVE toys for children!
And we can’t leave off Blue Orange Games! They’ve won several Mom’s Choice Awards, and hanging out in their booth seeing the new games was so much fun.
Of course, it was great to see so many Mom’s Choice Award-winning products catching the eye of the toy industry and retailers from around the world. We know that these products are great for families, and it’s great to see them getting the industry recognition that they deserve!
And finally, we did lots of goofing around! Mom’s Choice Awards® CEO, Dawn Matheson had her photo taken with a couple of fans!
Maddie and Rachel hung out with our Lil Butters friends:
And after a few long days at Toy Fair, we enjoyed ourselves…with only family-friendly wine of course! :)
We’ve got lots more pictures to share, and we’ll do so on Facebook!
